The projects that are part of GRRIPP Latin America and the Caribbean are based in more than seven countries. To address the broad spectrum of issues and themes they cover, regional advisers provide guidance and accompany projects in meeting their expected objectives and impacts. Likewise, they are fundamental personalities for strengthening networks and links.
Jorgelina Hardoy
Jorgelina Hardoy holds a BA in Geography from the University of Buenos Aires and an MA in Geography from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. Currently, she is a general coordinator and senior researcher at the International Institute for Environment and Development, IIED - Latin America, based in Buenos Aires. Her work focuses on developing multi-stakeholder processes to address urban environmental problems, reduce disaster risks, improve climate resilience and strengthen adaptive capacities. It works primarily with communities and local governments, contributing to developing comprehensive and transformative urban agendas and seeking to inform national and international policies.

Lourdes Meyreles
Lourdes Meyreles Vicioso is a Sociologist with a Masters in Gender and Development. She is an Associate Researcher and Coordinator of the Social Study Program on Disaster Risk at FLACSO DR. Adjunct Professor at the Technological Institute of Santo Domingo (INTEC). She teaches and conducts research in gender and disaster risk management, gender and climate change, and women and development. She has participated in the design of academic programs and research and publication projects, including the Gender and Disaster Sourcebook of the Gender and Disaster Network; the IUCN-GGCA Gender and Climate Change Handbook. She is also a member of the Feminist Network for Gender and Disaster Studies and the Gender Committee of the Caribbean Disaster Management Agency, CDEMA, for FLACSO and the GRRIPP Program, Gender and Intersectional Resilience.
Among her recent publications is the Gender and REDD+ Action Plan of the Dominican Republic, where she was responsible for the Gender Analysis.
Gonzalo Lizarralde
Gonzalo Lizarralde is a professor at the School of Architecture at the University of Montreal, Canada. He has taught at the University of Cape Town (South Africa), McGill University (Canada), International University of Catalonia (Spain), Universidad del Valle, and Universidad Javeriana (Colombia). He is a founding member of i-Rec, an international network of disaster risk reduction and reconstruction specialists, and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada's College of New Scholars, Artists, and Scientists, the country's first multidisciplinary recognition system for intellectual leadership. Gonzalo holds the Research Chair Fayolle-Magil's "Construction in architecture, construction, and sustainability." He is also the Director of the IF Research Group and the leader of the Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Reconstruction Research Alliance. Author of the books Unnatural Disasters and The Invisible Houses, co-author of Reconstruction after Disasters, and three other edited books.
Sergio de Medeiros Rivero
Sergio de Medeiros Rivero was born in the southern Brazilian Amazon, Economist (1991), with a Master's in Production Engineering (1999) and a Ph.D. in Sustainable Development of the Humid Tropics from the Federal University of Pará (2004). He was a professor at the School of Economics at the Federal University of Pará and is currently a full professor at the Federal University of Campina Grande in the Academic Unit of Economics and Finance. He has experience in the field of Economics, with an emphasis on Socioeconomic Simulation, working mainly on the following topics: Amazon, regional development, socioeconomic scenarios, sustainable development, and multi-agent simulation.
Ana Falú
Ana Falú is an Argentinean feminist and social activist. She is an architect and urban planner with postgraduate studies in the Netherlands. She is a pioneer in Latin America on the issues of the city, housing, and habitat at the intersection of gender and women's rights with a focus on local governments. Activist and academic, a researcher at CONICET, and professor emeritus of the UNC. She has been the Regional Director of UIFEM (now UN Women) for the Andean Countries, Brazil, and the Southern Cone Countries (2002-09). Executive Director of CISCSA and co-founder of Red Mujer y Hábitat LAC (1986) and Articulación Feminista Mercosur (2000). She promoted the Cities without Violence for Women, Safe Cities for All Program which inspired global programs. Author of books, scientific articles, and book chapters, and influencer as a feminist urbanist.
